Jack & the Elle Foundation

This is Jack.  Jack was diagnosed on May 12, 2009 (age 6 1/2) with a
high risk neuroblastoma in stage 4.  He completed 6 rounds of chemo, surgery
radiation, stem cell transplant & numerous rounds of antibody therapy.  He finished
his treatment in the summer of 2010 & had been enjoying his living his life & racing
his quarter midget.  Jack relapsed in September of 2010 & continued on to fight quite the
battle.

Jack's mother Becky is a childhood friend of mine & his story really touched both Josh & me.
I can't tell you how many times I would read a post of what this little boy was going through
& tear up, wanting so badly to help.  We never had the privilege of meeting Jack in person,
however we really do feel as if we got to know him through his story.

On December 21st, 2012 at 4:23am, Jack earned his angel wings...

As you know, every six months we donate a portion of our cutting board & oil sales to charitable causes. This cycle we are donating to the charity of Becky's choice.

Becky chose the Elle Foundation, who did a lot for Jack & his family during his fight, to keep him feeling like a kid.

The Elle foundation's mission is to create memories of joy for children battling cancer & granting second wishes for children with a recurrence of  cancer.   You can read more about why the Elle Foundations was started here.

Beyond our simple donation, our hope is that we can raise even a little more awareness around childhood cancer
& the wonderful organizations that help families that are affected.  Our hearts are with Jack's family...

  1. Thank you for your charitable practice. FOHK acknowledge your contribution and that reminded me to visit you site.
I see and can visit your studio, too: I'll have to plan on that.
    Thanks
